Home    Sunday market San Juan

The San Juan Market in Ibiza takes place every Sunday from 10:00 AM onwards in the town square of Sant Joan. The square becomes bustling with people eager to enjoy one of the most authentic events on the island. The market offers a diverse range of products, including handmade crafts, typical pieces, items for children, and freshly harvested organic food from the municipality’s well-tended gardens.

You can find everything from jewelry, clothing, paintings, and bags to decorative items—each piece crafted by skilled artisans from around the world. It could be said that it is one of the most eclectic markets on the island, as people from all nationalities and cultures come together to spend a pleasant day.

The market was closed for almost a year but resumed on August 20, 2023, albeit with fewer stalls than before.

To enhance the experience, live music is available from 12:00 PM onwards. The bars and restaurants around the square fill up, creating a cozy atmosphere. You can either try to secure a seat at one of them or, if the weather is pleasant (which is likely), grab a snack and sit on a bench or step outside. The views are truly spectacular!

Musical groups and some sales stalls change from week to week. However, whether you’re a tourist or a resident, you’ll always find something interesting, so if you don’t plan to spend, it’s advisable not to approach any of the stalls, as there will always be something that catches your eye.

It is one of the few markets that remains open not only during the summer season but also in winter, allowing locals to enjoy it as well.

Try to arrive early if you want to secure a good spot in one of the nearby bars or restaurants. The market typically stays open until around 4:00 PM.
